ALL WORK AND ALL PLAY - extraordinary women, entrepreneurs, and moms who LOVE what they do! July 29 2015, 1 Comment
I am excited to feature a very passionate entrepreneur activist – Becky Sturm – whom I first met in a round-table discussion and was impressed by her strong convictions, commitment to sustainability and wildly successful product line.
Having spent 25 years in the salon and spa industry and founding StormSister Spatique, an online beauty boutique, Becky Sturm has developed her own line of natural, multi-functional personal grooming products, she calls 3waybeauty. She is also co-founder of the HAMMS event and founder of the new Lowertown Pop event - pop up markets, showcasing local Minnesota makers.
Questions for Becky:
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
"I love developing products that don't involve the use of any questionably unhealthy ingredients. I have also chosen to only work with and employ other entrepreneurs - they're incredibly inspiring and supportive."
How did you make your 1st sale?
"When I launched my 3waybeauty product line at STYLEDLIFE in Galleria. Kevin Quinn, the owner of STYLEDLIFE, was very supportive of my company and knew my multi-functional grooming products were a good fit for his store. It was so thrilling to see his customers purchase my products and believe in them as much as I did."
How did you raise 2 boys while running a business – what’s your secret?
"I worked around their schedules until they left the nest. That's the only way I could do it and keep them out of daycare, and still feel like I was a good parent."
I know both your kids are grown- can you share one of your favorite ways of spending time together when they were younger?
"We ALWAYS ate dinner together as a family. Questions, problems and joys are all shared around the dinner table. Even at the ages of 20 and 27, my favorite times together are when we all get to share our lives during dinner - or sometimes breakfast!"
What’s your superpower?
"I'm, The Helper. I love working with and supporting other entrepreneurs and sharing my connections and resources with them."
